How to update the firmware on your EFIX USB:
Step 1: Download the latest Control Center from here. (bottom of this page)
Note: The Control Center is only for OS X. There is no Windows Control Center.
Step 2: Install the Control Center by double clicking the downloaded file. An icon will appear in the System Preferences panel.
Note: If you already have an older Control Center installed you must first remove the old one before installing the new one. To do so, right click or control click on the Control Center icon and remove.
Step 3: Open the EFi-X Control Center in your System Preferences panel by clicking on the icon. Your EFi-X information should be displayed including version number, serial number, and current firmware installed on your EFi-X. To update, click "Update". A screen will be displayed with general warnings and information from ASEM. Click "OK" to agree. If there is an newer firmware available then it will automatically download and install.
Note: If your firmware is up to date you will get a message telling you "No New Update Found"
Step 4: Once your device is fully updated you will see a message showing 100% and "Complete". Once it is complete, shutdown your computer.
Step 5: Unplug your computer, reset the CMOS, plug your computer back in and turn it back on. Go into the bios and change all settings back to default. Restart your computer and adjust bios settings for the EFi-X. (necessary only if your computer keep on restarting)
FAQ on regarding efix firmware update:
Q: Should I update my efix firmware?
A: Firmware and motherboard bios are similer, only update if there is a benifit for you, meaning this will fix a known issue for you. and/or firmware update support new version OS. Please see our FAQ for more information on firmware update and version.
Q: Once I update my EFIX Firmware version, may I downgrade?
A: NO, Only efix manufacture may downgrade.
Q:How do I update/upgrade EFIX Firmware Version?
A: please download the "EFi-X Control Center" install and click update.
Q: Is there any other way of updating efix firmware?
A: Yes, only by mailing the efix usb to authorized center.
